Tower of Stars
Established in the late 1960s, the Torre delle Stelle tourist village is located about 35 km from Cagliari (35 minutes by car) and 19 km from Villasimius, on the southeastern coast of Sardinia.Inhabited year-round by about a hundred residents, it comes alive especially in the warm months, becoming a paradise of colors and scents, where the voices of nature reign supreme.Due to its particular location, Torre delle Stelle can boast the longest summer on the entire island, being located in the coastal area of the municipalities of Maracalagonis and Sinnai.In addition to the beautiful beaches of Torre delle Stelle: Cann'e Sisa and Genn'e Mari, you can discover those of Solanas, Villasimius, Geremeas, Costa Rey and Cagliari, the island's capital.
In the spring and summer there are two small supermarkets, a fishmonger's, a butcher's and a clothing, handicraft and souvenir store. There are also kiosks and stalls selling local products, from fruits and vegetables to salami and Sardinian pecorino cheese (typical products of our land).You can also find beach items, books and flowers. Newsstands, tobacco shops and pharmacies are other services available in the high season.In the low season, a grocery store and newsstand/bar/tobacco store are open only on weekends. In Torre delle Stelle there are several bars and ice cream shops that stay open until late in the evening. The village is, however, a very quiet and safe place.During the summer months there is a medical service on call and since the spring a pharmacy is also open.
